  • Supported
    • Supported a film festival at the Main Library in January and again in July
    • Board members attended the San Bernardino County Friends' annual educational workshop in Fontana
    • The American Cancer Society through a root beer float fundrasier in June and raised $250
    • A program with author Vincenza Scarpaci
    • The Summer Reading Program for adults, teens and children raised $176 at the carnival
    • Retirement reception at Page One Café for Library Director Judy Evans

     

  • Grants
    • Recieved $500 from Edu-Grant program for water education for Children's Department
    • Recieved $3,000 from the Alliance for Education
    • Recieved $500 from 3M which the Friends added $300 to be used for educational audio-visual materials

  • Purchased
    • Mobile storage unit for the Branch Library
    • A donation drop box (furniture) for Main Library
    • Furniture to cover wiring at Branch computer station
    • A bike to be raffled off at the Ontario-Montclair School District's Expo
    • Ear buds for library customers - they are selling very briskly
    • Funiture A-Frame book display unit for the Children's Department
    • Supplies for the Model Colony room, for teen and children's programs, for scrapbooking programs and for literacy
    • Computer stand for the graphics office
    • Christmas decorations for the library

     

  • Marketing/Fundraising
    • Space Bank sent us $501 in January for recycled e-waste, and $364 in May
    • Susan Gordon made FOCL banners for the book sale area at the Main Library
    • A membership drive basket of goodies was raffled off as part of Love Your Library in February
    • FOCL purchased a $50 ad in the Kiwanis' pancake breakfast placemat in June
    • FOCL purchased $150 worth of e-mail advertising from the Chamber of Commerce announcing our e-waste program

    • To everyone who helped out at our annual book sale in September - teens made $100; new members $175; and $704 in sales
